From the kitchen to the bar, Deepak Koranga has come a long way. Now with World Class being on its 11th edition, Deepak has found his way to be among the top 10 World Class bartenders. With a lot of talent and passion, he has made a mark in this prestigious mixing competition. Are you wondering how he did that? Well, he got chatty with us and here’s what he shared.
When did you first realise you liked bartending and wanted to be a bartender?
I started my career working in the kitchen and this helped me learn the art of balancing ingredients and understanding flavours. During my 3 and half years working there, I used to observe the bartenders working behind the bar, interacting with guests, suggesting drinks and overall seeing guests smile when they enjoyed the drink. This made me move to the bar to learn more.
What cocktail do you order when you’re on the other side of the bar?
My favourites are a Negroni and an Old Fashioned.
