Having established herself as a creator of unconventional, bespoke jewellery, Poonam Soni has long been known for marrying her two loves: art and gemstones. This year, the designer is adding another feather to her cap by putting a charitable spin on her latest works. Picking cancer as her cause of choice, Poonam Soni has tied up with the Terry Fox Association to host two jewellery shows in Mumbai. The first show was opened by Ramona Narang Rodella and her daughter ’Bella on February 1 and saw the likes of Madhoo Shah, Tara Sharma, Vidya Malvade and Ira Dubey walking the ramp. Suchitra Pillai belted out Madonna’s smash hit ‘Vogue’ to an appreciative audience, while wearing a stunning necklace that won equal praise. Togged out in gowns by Sonaakshi Raaj and made-up to perfection by Vipul Bhagat, these beautiful ladies made their mark for charity — ensuring that the Poonam Soni creations on auction for charity were snapped up overnight.
With the second instalment of this initiative by Poonam Soni for the Terry Fox Cancer Association scheduled for February 19, one expects an evening that is brighter still. After all, the bar has already been set so high!
