Show review: Swapnil Shinde
The brides that blew our mind!
With a title like ‘Bride of The Terminator,’ Swapnil Shinde already had an enthusiastic turnout for his show on Day 3 of Signature International Fashion Weekend 2013. Swapnil’s distinctive style immediately stood out as models sashayed out swathed in dreamy drapes — georgette, raw silk, silk-crepe and satin spandex — in a stunning colour palette that swung from black to bold neons and midnight blues. This trousseau, however, wasn’t your average pretty young thing’s fantasy! The fishtail fit-n-flare silhouettes and clever draping added oomph to the gowns, but it was the metallic rexine detailing (classic Swapnil Shinde!) that ensured maximum impact. The gold embellishments were carried further via gold accessories and braided buns. From a carefully constructed top with flowy trousers to a sequined maxi with a Grecian trail, the outfits bore a futuristic stamp, whilst maintaining unmistakable red-carpet glamour.
Walking out to the tune of a cheeky Bollywood retro number, Swapnil and his showstopper Miss Universe-Canada Sahar Biniaz (radiant in shiny silver), had the audience eating out of their hands.
ABSOLUTELY LUST-WORTHY: It would take some serious confidence to pull off the look, but the classic gowns with futuristic details had us longing for more!
