Hyderabad, or the City of Pearls, is a fast-growing, cosmopolitan city in India. It’s quickly becoming an international business destination thanks to some huge tech companies. Google and Apple both have headquarters here, leading some to call it Cyberabad. Nicknames aside, the city is throbbing with exciting nightlife and bars. It caters for wealthy locals, visiting business people, and students alike. This modern corner of India is an exciting place to be, and the bars are no different.
But, which is the very best? Narrowing down the ten most exciting bars and clubs in Hyderabad wasn’t easy. However, our list covers everything from luxury, chic destinations to the buzzing local hot spots. If you’re a Hyderabad local, we’d love to hear your thoughts at the end of the article. For now, let’s take a look at the top clubs and pubs in the city.
The main feature of Aqua is the stunning infinity pool. It stretches out into the distance, seemingly merging with the Hussain Sagar Lake. It’s a beautiful spectacle, especially when the sun is going down, and gleaming off the water. The bar itself is located on the third floor of the Park hotel, and it’s an elite establishment. Expect high-end cocktails and great food. It’s a popular after-party destination, as it stays open much later than many of the surrounding bars.
2. 10 Downing Street
Familiarly known as 10D, this English themed bar is one of the oldest in town. There’s plenty of period furniture, wooden bars, and antique artwork on the walls. 10D is a lovely place to unwind after a hard day, with its comfortable setting, and cosy sofas. As the evening sets in, however, things get a little more exciting. There’s a themed night every evening, including Desi night, Karaoke, Rock, and Ladies Night. After 10pm, dancing is definitely encouraged!

Kismet is one of the largest bars in Hyderabad, set over a sprawling 11,000 sq. ft. The decor is sophisticated, modern, and classic. There are metallic finishes, soft lighting, and a strange tunnel entrance when you arrive. Best known for its private booths and VIP areas, it won’t take long before you spot a celebrity. It’s probably the most popular bar in town, and certainly one of the biggest. Kismet prides itself on cocktails, and there are plenty of recipes to try out.
4. Altitude Bar
Residents of Hyderabad know that the Hussain Sagar Lake sits proudly in the centre of town. The best bars take advantage of this with stunning lake views. Altitude is one such bar, located right on the edge of the lake. Take the elevator to the eighth floor, and you’re treated to a beautiful view overlooking the water. Again, cocktails are the order of the day, and can treat yourself to one of the best meals in town. When the lights go down, you can party in style on the dance floor.
5. Lost Society
You may have guessed by now that Hyderabad locals love their cocktails. If you love your stylish drinks too, then head to Lost Society. The bar claims to be the first (and best) cocktail bar in the city. The owner honed his skills in Europe, learning the precise art of cocktail making. Lost Society takes a traditional approach to drinks, making sure you get your cocktail exactly how you like it. As for the decor, you’ll be blown away by the stunning white tree in the centre of the room.
MOB, or Mad Over Beer, does exactly what it says on the tin! The bar is a Belgian beer house at heart, with a constant rotation of craft beer on tap. This is one bar that doesn’t obsess over cocktails, and you’ll find a simple, mouth-watering beer instead! Each of the 16 beers are temperature tested, and served perfectly. The bar itself is rustic in style, with plenty of reclaimed wood and recycled metal. It has a modern, stylish charm, and the place is quiet enough to hear yourself over the music.
7. Bottles & Chimney
There’s one thing you’ll always remember when you visit Bottles & Chimney: the flaming bar! The bar is right in the centre of the dance floor, and the bartenders regularly set the whole thing on fire. This is the first real club on the list, so if you’re looking for late nights and hard dancing, this is the place. Resident DJ Falgun takes control of the decks, playing hip hop and commercial house. When you need a break from dancing, there’s a nice outdoor courtyard to catch your breath.
Another serious dancing hotspot, Liquids is small and intimate. There are only eight tables in this small space, but if you can get in, it’s worth the trouble! It’s an exclusive, luxurious bar with cosy, comfortable booths. Each one looks out over the city through floor-to-ceiling windows. It’s a breathtaking sight. Sundays are the club’s busiest night, and the dance floor is always buzzing.
9. Grill Room
The best thing about Grill Room is the sisha! Filled to bursting with over 100 flavours, the hookahs are placed on every table. Sample the green apple, grape or mint flavours (our personal favourites!) Try a kebab or grilled chicken for dinner, and then watch as the lounge turns into a nightclub. Sangria is the speciality drink on offer here, and the music is a strong blend of hip hop and Bollywood.
10. The Club
You know exactly what you’re getting when you walk into The Club. Great music, huge dance floor, and a night to remember! It’s one of the biggest in town, and never feels too crowded. There are plenty of plush sofas around the edge of the dance floor, and more than a few VIP lounges. If you can sweet-talk your way into the VIP area, you’re treated to a single malt and cognac library. It’s the perfect place to finish the night in style.
