Estella, Juhu

You may not be able to slip off your shoes and sink your feet into the sand beneath your table but you can do the next best thing – of enjoying an outstanding meal while being serenaded by the lovely sea breeze and the magnificent sunset at Juhu beach, at Estella. The modern Australian meal served here encourages you to linger on, while soaking up the ocean views and some great people watching on the beach. Start with the grilled scallops with miso honey cream and carrot foam is exquisite. The presentation too is breathtaking. The seafood al ajilio (with clams, shrimps and scallops) is a thing of dreams and a must try here. The accompanying sherry saffron garlic butter sauce is simply addictive. If you drink, go for the Yuzu Sour which is a bitter, sour and sweet drink of Singleton of Ord malt with Japanese yuzu.

Drinks are curated by the renowned mixologist Dimi Lezinska. When hunger strikes, hit the Asian spread of Trilogy Special Roll (a cocoon of Lobster Tempura, avocado and crisps), the Hamachi carpaccio or the Edamame Truffle Dumplings. But if you are looking to dance the night away, head to the two storied SuperClub in the same premises. The unprecedented DJ booth here is a motorised one that spins between the two floors and is something the city has never witnessed before.

Ziya – The Oberoi Mumbai

This award winning restaurant at the Oberoi Hotel serves North Indian delicacies with a wonderful view of the Queen’s Necklace. The wooden flooring adds a regal touch to the place and the wooden inlay work looks quite impressive. But the most significant aspect of this restaurant is undoubtedly the view. Wherever you choose to sit, you get a fantastic view. The magnificent dishes by chef Vineet Bhatia may burn a hole in your pocket but that’s the price you pay for innovation and exclusivity. Go for the finest butter chicken in the city. But if you are daring enough to move out of your comfort zone, do try one of Vineet's signature dishes. The Chocolate Samosa is a true classic.
