When Indian skipper Virat Kohli decided to turn into a restaurateur last year by opening Nueva (joining the likes of cricketers such as Zaheer Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and more), there was massive media hype. Fans from every corner of the world flocked to the space to experience what their favourite cricketer had in store for them. And why not?
This relatively new space in the capital city has not only made a name for itself due to Virat’s star power, but also for its offerings. Warm and inviting, Virat Kohli’s restaurant serves an eclectic South American menu that you can savour amidst its delightful ambience comprising native American-inspired interiors.
Co-owned by Virat’s brother Vikas, and Sharad and Vikram Batra (of Café Delhi Heights), Nueva is spread across two floors. The ground floor features a luxury lounge and bar with interiors done up in wood and Statuario marble, where RCB fans can flock to watch all the VIVO IPL 2018 match screenings. An exciting prospect, isn’t it?
The level above is the private dining room for all those looking to spend some quiet (and quality) time with their partners and indulge in the delectable cuisines that are on offer. Art fanatics have a lot to ponder about in the design department. The native American-inspired theme is evident in the geometrical and hexagonal patterns, alongside the aesthetically appealing wooden paneling, and comfortable leather furniture. The set of globular lights, the crockery, and glassware add another dimension to the overall décor.
The menu selection is eclectic, to say the least. From its European, South American and Peruvian cuisines, you need to try the Classic Prawns, Spicy Tofu and Scallions, Peruanito, Seared Tuna, Salmon Temaki, Prawns Asado, Duck Asado, Grilled Prawns, Lamb Meatballs, and the Quinotto Pasta.
For the mains, you can opt for the Hawaiian Ahi Tuna Loin or the Roasted Pork Belly and wash it down with some tantalizing cocktails such as Rosabella (tequila, lime, cranberry), Old Fashioned Godfather (created out of single malt scotch), The Sacred Valley, or the Nomad (vodka, cucumber, coriander, jalapenos and lime) for an evening to remember.
The right mix of the perfect ambience and mouth-watering delicacies, Nueva will definitely leave you spoilt for choice. So if you’re looking to watch live match screenings, in the mood to after-party after an IPL match, or wish for the perfectly cozy dinner in the company of your beloved, Nueva is where you need to head to right away.
