World famous Swedish DJ Tim Bergling, better known by stage name Avicii, has been tearing up the EDM music circuit since 2007. Only 25 years of age, Avicii garnered his legion of loyal fans after the release of his hit single ?Levels,? which launched him into the mainstream dance music circuit. The track reached the top ten in over 10 countries including the UK and even topped the charts in Hungary, Norway, and Sweden. He counts legends like Daft Punk and Steve Angello among his inspirations and his melodic overtures combined with a unique house sound has helped him establish a solid reputation as a top international DJ. As a performer, Avicii is known for his catchy sound and energetic improvisations, and since his meteoric rise to fame, has sold out every show he has performed in. Let?s take a look at some of his more memorable gigs.
World DJ Festival 2011
After bursting on to the scene, this was Avicii?s debut performance. This was the 5th World DJ festival and was being held in Korea. Many of his earliest fans will attest to his amazing performance, which was best described as being fresh and energetic, and EDM fans will attest to the same. However, the highlight of the show was the crazy energy of the Korean fans, who really helped make this a memorable experience.
If anything, Avicii fans will remember this performance for the giant head he performed in. With a set-list featuring fan favourites such as ?Levels? and ?Fade into Darkness,? the crowd was in a crazy rapture throughout. Lollapalooza may have started out as a rock music fest, but EDM fans have spoken and the fest now features a more varied line-up, with the upcoming show set to feature huge names such as Eminem, Outkast and Skrillex.
Radio City Music Hall 2012
It certainly was odd to see an artist like Avicii perform at the Radio City Music Hall, a venue is best known for its opulent décor, grand staircases and extravagantly overprice food. However, his performance at this famous New York entertainment venue will remain one of his most iconic performances, as it was the first time a DJ headlined at this prestigious venue. His high-energy set featured a mix of The Who?s ?Baba O?Riley? which seamlessly blended into ?Fade into Darkness.?
