On 21st September, the guests at Tantra were seen dancing to the #Desilicious electro bolly beats at the carnival organized by The Party People and sponsored by Smirnoff. The event featured singer Indeep Bakshi, the man behind the party chartbuster ?Saturday Saturday?. On the console, we also had DJs Chetan Anand Singh, Manish Patwa, Rahul Indoria, Deejay Rishi, Kabir Singh Kabira, and Kunal Bose. Among the guests DJs were DJ Gani Chowdhury from 10, Downing Street, Hyderabad and DJ Akash Rohira. The face of the event was the Mrs India International 2011 - Richa Sharma.
The Tantra crowd was in its usual self: lively and young. But there was no stopping when Indeep put the bollywood chart-toppers of the 90s in queue. The crowd went in a maddening frenzy, singing along the tracks. One after another came the hits that ruled our minds for more than two decades now?fused with the desi beats of the dholak.
The gorgeous Richa Sharma entered in style, accompanied by dholak players dressed in pukka desi attire. When Indeep played his blaster track ?Saturday Saturday?, it seemed that the crowd eagerly waited for this moment. Even the most reluctant dancer, in this case it was of course me, hit the floor, tapping to the thunderous beats.
By the time the night started falling, the mood of the party was electrifying. Not just Indeep but the other DJs too added colors to the show. The perfect blend of old bollywood classics with the newer chartbusters, this evening and the party were definitely memorable ones.
The bar counters were definitely very very busy?and we all know the spirits of the Calcuttans are always high. The only wish was that if the night could have been a little longer on 21st! Subah hone na de?eh?
