Mumbai is not only the city of booming businesses, but also has a thriving music scene. There are a plethora of venues in the Maximum City that host renowned and upcoming DJs, indie bands, Sufi festivals and electronic nights to give their guests an experience to cherish.
This year, Mumbai’s Antisocial took home one of the most coveted awards at the prestigious annual nightlife and bar industry convention, in association with Johnnie Walker the Journey. With stiff competition from some other established night clubs and pubs including Someplace Else – The Park (Kolkata), Heart Cup Coffee (Hyderabad), The Humming Tree (Bangalore), The Piano Man Jazz Club (NCR), High Spirits (Pune), Cohiba (Goa), and Bay 146 (Chennai), Mumbai’s Antisocial was crowned the Best Venue For Live Performances. Here’s taking a look at why this venue has an edge over others in the live scene.
A basement area located at Khar Road, Antisocial has, in a short span of time, become the city’s most popular venue. The perfect space to host art exhibitions, workshops, poetry readings, musical evenings, and literary events, this place boasts of some great sound coupled with perfect programming, cheap booze and of course, an affordable entry. They have an array of music genres for the patrons of the city, from hip hop, techno, new age, to metal.
On an average, the gigs take place at least four to five days a week and the venue can host up to 300 people (and more, especially during the weekends), while the tickets are priced in such a way that it doesn’t burn your pocket.
The place serves its guests the same menu as that of Social which includes Mediterranean, American and North India cuisines from which we recommend the Barbeque Chicken, Toblerone Shake, Sesame Toast, Potato Mash, Pancakes, Chicken Bao and Gunpowder Calamari.
While from the drinks menu, your must-have list should include Hot Shoddy, the Famous Social Margarita, Old Smoke and Cosmo-Explosion.
