The popularity of open-air bars has soared in the last couple of years. There’s nothing more exhilarating than an open rooftop bar with their one-of-a-kind ambience, the prime location they’re situated in, and the superior mixology they offer their guests. After a long day at work, the best way to unwind is probably with a glass of delectable cocktail and some light bites, in the company of great friends.
This year, there were a number of bars competing for the Best Open-Air Bar category at the prestigious annual nightlife and bar industry convention held in Mumbai, in association with Johnnie Walker the Journey. And Mumbai’s Aer was declared the undisputed winner, second time in a row, beating competitors such as Ozora and Over the Top at the Myx (Kolkata), Over the Moon (Hyderabad), The 13th Floor (Bangalore), SOI 7 – Cyber Hub (NCR), Euriska (Pune), Chronicle (Goa), and Q Bar (Chennai). So what makes this Mumbai bar a hit among patrons and travellers, alike? Here’s taking a look why.
Located in the by-lanes of Worli, and strategically placed at the 34th floor of Four Seasons, everything else pales in comparison to the view of this place. With its contemporary white décor, the neon lit circular bar which reminds most people of Sirocco (which is a rooftop bar in Bangkok), the soft music playing in the background, the cinematic view of the Maximum City and the well-crafted cocktails, all of this together makes it one of the best spots to unwind.
Renowned for serving its guests cuisines such as Spanish, Italian, European and Lebanese, they’re also known for their exotic range of cocktails (with intriguing names) like the Mumbai Kiss and The Joker. You can also look forward to their happy hours post 5 pm alongside music nights, which will surely turn it into an evening to remember.
What we recommend from the food menu includes Chicken Satay, Potato Wedges, Chicken Tikka Pizza, Masala Pizza, and the Margherita Pizza. Besides the exotically named cocktails mentioned earlier, you must try their delectable mocktails such as the Flying High (Vanilla ice cream, coffee, hazelnut, coconut), Galvanised (Pomegranate, raspberry, pineapple, lime), and Red Knight (pears, cranberry juice, and cinnamon).
