Throwing a great New Year’s Eve house party depends on how well you plan it. You probably will arrange the necessary things such as a music system, a barbeque pit, starters and main course anyway. Although, here are a five essential things you probably should consider.

1.Dance floor

It’s New Year’s and people will want to shake a leg or two, so go on ahead and clear up a room or a corner in the living area and throw a rug on it. Make sure you have a good sound system, well if you don’t, you can always use or borrow a good Bluetooth speaker and hook your phone up to it.

2.Designated sober host

New Year Party

Everybody knows that this is asking for too much on New Year’s Eve, but think about it, you will need someone to tell you how crazy the guests were after the party. Especially since most of them won’t remember it. Besides, a sober host always comes in handy when the neighbors are being troublesome or the cops decide to visit.

3.A quirky photo booth

Parties are also about making memories, capturing them and sharing them on social media so you can re-live them again and again. Repurpose a wall in the house to create a quirky background and have a box of fun props at hand from wigs, quirky glasses, moustaches, slogans and such for your guests to pose with.

4.Voluntary bartender

It’s the last day of the year, so people are probably going to drink, especially the ones who make resolutions to quit. So having a drunk bartender is most likely to end up as a cocktail for disaster. Get one of your friends who is not a booze guzzler to watch over the bar.

5.Safe rides home

Drinking responsibly is the right way to party, and driving drunk is not a very sensible thing to do. Book cabs in advance or request your teetotaler guests to drop of other guests on their way home. This is the one thing you shouldn’t compromise on because bad news after a great party will ruin wonderful memories. encourages you to Party Responsibly!
