Hello there. Are you new to the world of music festivals? I was in the same boat as you are now. So much to explore, so much to see and so less time.
It can be a little overwhelming, especially when it comes to music festivals. But don’t worry, I have got your back. I attended my first music festival only last year and it is worth remembering.
The entire feeling simply cannot be put into words. But just to give you an idea, remember how in Endgame Dr. Strange brings the entire army just when the Avengers thought the end is here? That ecstatic feeling, like nothing in the world matters other than that one scene. Yes, that is how you will feel as soon as you experience a music festival.
So, if you are starting out and don’t know which one to attend then let me help you. Pick any or all from the list and you can thank us later.
1. Ziro Festival Of Music – Arunachal Pradesh
4 amazing days, 40 staggering musicians and a riveting scenery, are you ready for it?
Won’t you feel that you’re at the top of the world?
Well, with Ziro you get to do exactly that. Organized in the Ziro valley of Arunachal Pradesh, this festival is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. And, if you’re a newbie, this festival would set the benchmark for you.
This festival is one of the eco-friendliest music festivals so far. With headliners like Steve Shelley, Lou Majaw, Indus Creed, and Lee Ranaldo, they have promised to come up with an even bigger list this time. Isn’t this exciting?
2. Magnetic Fields - Rajasthan
What if I tell you that you get a chance to dance away to music in a 17th century palace? Who would want to miss out on a chance like that, right? Well, if like you mystic mahals and palaces just like I do then Magnetic Field should definitely be on your list.
Three days of music, art, food and what not! The festival aims to bring together contemporary music and ancient Indian heritage and trust me, they have done a fantastic job at it!
Laze around, go hunting for hidden treasures or dance on the rooftop, at the music festival, the sky is your limit. So, pack your bags and book your tickets for Rajasthan already!
3. Sunburn- Goa (Venue subject to change)
If you’re an EDM lover then Sunburn should be a must-try on your list. This four-day electronic music festival is just what you need if you have never attended a music festival before. When they say that they are the Asia’s largest electronic music festival, they really mean it.
From electronic dance to dubstep, they have any and all kinds of musical genres. Not only that, Sunburn boasts of an outstanding line-up which has included artists like Armin Van Buuren, Dash Berlin, Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia in the past. Any guesses who’s going to line-up this year.
4. Enchanted Valley Carnival – Amby Valley
Have you heard of a multi genre music festival to be held on an airstrip? Well, this is exactly how Enchanted Valley Carnival made their grand entry. Held in the Amby Valley, this two-day music mania includes 2 stages and a silent disco party. Isn’t this like ‘sone pe suhaga?’
The Enchanted Valley Carnival is so cool that even their after party has a line-up as grand as their main event. Along with that, you also get a chance to try adventure sports like all-terrain vehicle, riding, bungee jumping, zorbing and what not! What are you waiting for?
5. Paddy Fields Festival - Nagaland
At music festivals, some people like to sit down and breathe in the music instead of jumping and headbanging to the music. If you’re one of them, then I have just the thing for you. Paddy Fields Festival is one place where you can relax while enjoying folk fusion music.
You will find seasoned artists like Amit Trivedi to Vishwa Mohan Bhatt composing fine tunes. Don’t worry about being new to this party, you will blend in like never before. What are you waiting for? Book your tickets right away.
So, what if you’re a newbie? We’ve helped you to get started.
And if music guides your soul, here’s one musical yaari jodi you just can’t miss.
