HERE’S HOW TO REVIVE YOUR FADING FRIENDSHIP

It’s true! The only thing constant in life is change.

And friendships are not immune to the constant change in our lives. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that your once-upon-a-time bestie is now an estranged friend. Don’t you miss picking up the phone and chatting with them for hours on ends about anything and everything? Be it a fight, a misunderstanding or just plain and simple distance, it would be amazing if you could find a way to reconnect with your yaar.

Here are a few things that will help you get closer to that long lost yaar. Try them out and thank us later.

Meet up!
There’s nothing as delightful as meeting your yaar in person and spending some quality time together. So if you feel that distance is getting the better of your friendship, just plan a meet-up and pour your yaar a glass of McDowell’s No. 1. There is no better way to bond than over a glass of your favourite drink. Trust us, the virtual wall between you two will melt in minutes.

Here’s How To Revive Your Fading Friendship

Talk it out
Just fixing up a meeting isn’t the end of it. Once you are with your yaar, make sure you share your feelings. Keep your ego aside and let him/ her know if he or she has ever hurt you causing the invariable distance. There’s nothing that solves problems better than talking it out.

Here’s How To Revive Your Fading Friendship

Lower your expectations
We invariably begin to expect things from the people we are close to and when those expectations are not met, it hurts. But it is possible that you’ve been expecting too much from your yaar which is straining your relationship. Lower your expectations and try to understand the opposite person’s point of view.

Accept change
The best thing you can do is to make your peace with change. It could be something as simple as your bestie making new friends or not being able to spend time with you because of professional commitments. Accept this change and work around it to keep your yaari intact.

Find a new interest
It’s possible that with time the things that you and your yaar bonded over are no longer of interest to either of you. But this doesn’t mean that the yaari is of no interest too. You can always revive the bond by finding a new interest and pursuing it together.

If you’ve done something different that worked, we’d like to hear about it too. Let us know in the comments below!
