Our yaars are the spice we need to live through our mundane lives. So, what if they take 2-3 business days to respond to our texts or need an entire eon to zero in on our plans. That's just the bits about our bond that makes life interesting. And no other medium explores this bond of friendship quite like Bollywood does.
Hindi cinema has given some amazing films on friendship, so much so, that each time I see a film on friendship, I see my own buds come to life on the screen. So to give you major #FriendshipGoals, we've compiled a list of all films which allowed us to experience our yaaris in a whole new light. Read on, and I guarantee you'll be hugging your yaars by the time you reach the end.
1. When Titu Chose Sonu Over Sweety In 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety'
I literally cried my heart out when Titu decided to walk out of his own wedding to save his yaari with Sonu. If you still remember this emotional climax, go hug the 'Sonu' in your life. *grabs the tissue box*

2. When Bunny Slaps Avi In 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'
Remember when Bunny tells Avi that he’s jealous of his success and slaps him for foul-mouthing? “Tere saare shows dekhe hai maine” says Avi, suggesting that he wasn’t envious of him but instead was proud of how good his best friend was doing in life. Such is the beauty of 'No. 1 yaari’ that your feelings remain unchanged despite being disconnected for years! Much feels, no?

3. When Sugandha's friends were supportive of her being a single mother in 'Angry Indian Goddesses'
Only a few films have been able to do justice to women and their friendships. On that note, Angry Indian Goddesses doesn't disappoint! One of the sweetest moments in the film was when the girls saw Maya's doodle beneath the staircase about her missing her parents. Post this, Sugandha's friends were super supportive of her being a single mother. Isn't that what friends are for, understanding us when no one does? Yaari ho toh aisi!
4. When Akash and Sid teased the hell out of Sameer after he had a horrible experience in 'Dil Chahta Hai'
They say that if you fall, your best friends will pick you up - only when they are done laughing. Such was the hilarious moment in Dil Chahta Hai when Sid and Akash laughed at Sameer when he was robbed by a girl. Once they were done laughing, like true friends, they helped him get over the mess!
5. When Vijayalakshmi taught Rani what true independence is in 'Queen'
Vijay nahi hai, toh kya hua? Vijaylakshmi toh hai'. Vijayalakshmi taught Rani the true meaning of friendship and how it will always be superior to love. She taught her how to be a free, independent woman and how she doesn't need anyone but herself to be happy. Isse kehte hai No. 1 Yaari!  How I wish I had a yaar like Vijaylakshmi! *sobs*
6. When Imran says sorry to Arjun in 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'
Being the poster child of friendship-films in Bollywood, it will be a carnal sin if we don't give ZNMD a spot in the list.  The movie showed the unbreakable bond between the three boys on a scale that was larger than life. One of the best moments in the film was when Imran and Arjun buried the hatchet (post the revelation that Imran had stolen Arjun's girlfriend). This only goes on to show how we screw up at times but a heartful apology is all it takes for things to fall into its place. Now that's what yaars are for!
I don't know about you, but these movies are giving me major #FriendshipGoals. Why wouldn't they? After all, their realistic and no-holds-barred portrayal of friendship is what attracts us the most! They make the bond I share with my friends seem so real! So, go hug your friends and celebrate your 'No. 1 Yaari'.
