Bumblebee is the movie you get when you combine the badassery of a robot movie with the nostalgic feels of an 80s flick. This movie is a total reboot on the original Transformers franchise.

Unlike the other movies from the franchise, this one is not directed by Michael Bay but by Travis Knight. So, it doesn’t solely revolve around the robot clashes. It is a multidimensional movie with a likeable storyline, relatable emotions, nostalgic 80s music and of course, just the right amount of live robot action.

If haven’t yet watched it, go already!

And, if you’ve watched and loved it, here are some similar movies you’ll enjoy for sure.

If you loved the sci-fi drama genre

Oblivion is set in a dystopian world where Earth is devastated after decades of war with the aliens. Tom Cruise who plays Jack, a drone repairman is assigned to come to Earth and extract a few remains. This is when he discovers a secret that might threaten mankind. What follows is a typical inter-space mission, with aliens, wars and all the drama in between. Check it out if you like sci-fi movies.

Guardians Of The Galaxy
If you loved the music in the movie

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 1, nuff said! Bumblebee has an amazing mix of 80s tracks including Bon Jovi’s “Runaway”, The Smith’s “Bigmouth Strikes Again” and many more. If you loved these nostalgic 80s tracks, you need to binge watch Guardians Of The Galaxy 1 and 2 pronto! Both the movies have an overdose of 80s music.

If you loved the 80’s theme of the movies

The 80s are back in many ways. Right from fashion, to music and movies, everyone’s emulating this epic decade. Bumblebee is one among these new movies and TV shows. The 2017 movie “It” based on the Stephen King novel of the same name is set in the 80s too. It has the same classic vibe, but it’s not quite the same genre. Embrace yourself for some 80s-themed horror with this movie.

Real Steel
If you loved the action scenes

If you enjoyed the clash of the robots in Bumblebee, Real Steel should be on your watchlist. The film features a dystopian world where robot boxing is a top sport. Basically, there are plenty of robots and a lot of fighting to keep you entertained.

If you love robot movies

Bumblebee has always been one of the most-loved Transformers. Unlike other robots, he has an emotional side to him, which brings out his yaari with the other human protagonist Charlie. If that’s something that got you interested in the movie, you’ll love the film Chappie too. Chappie is a story of a robot who begins to have the ability to think and feel.
