Lady GaGa’s lasting tribute to David Bowie — it’s bigger than a Grammy performance!

Kate Moss honoured him with a Bowie-themed birthday bash, but Lady GaGa is taking her David Bowie homage to the next level. The 29-year-old singer — who is slated to perform a tribute to the late music icon at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles today — apparently visited a tattoo parlour in Los Angeles over the weekend and got a David Bowie Ziggy Stardust inking on her side.

By her own admission, GaGa owes her career to Bowie; saying that the icon’s outlandish personas made her believe she wasn’t too “weird” and inspired her to push the envelope in her own unusual way. “It’s hard to talk about,” GaGa explained recently, adding, “I would never be here without him — I would’ve thought I was too weird — and I never gave up because I thought he was the coolest ever.”

With Bowie set to receive a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammys, GaGa is hoping to ensure her “experimental tribute” to the artiste will honour his spirit. And freshly inked to prove she means it, you can be certain this is more than a token tribute.
