George Clooney picks the UK for a more permanent pause

This is a day we’d rather see later than sooner, but Hollywood hunk George Clooney is thinking about life post retirement. Despite having homes all over the world — from Los Angeles to Lake Como — it seems Clooney feels his home in south east England would be most suited for a long-term pause.

Speaking to OK! magazine about the country house he purchased in Berkshire over a year ago, George confessed, “In the long run, that’s a house where I can imagine living with my wife and getting old and grey.” Quick to add, “When I speak about old and grey, I’m only referring to myself,” George also talked about parenting in the future.

We’re big believers in regular R&R, as are George and wife Amal. The power couple jet off to Italy for a peaceful pause as often as they can, while their Berkshire estate undergoes extensive renovation and recovers from the ravages of recent inclement weather. With nine bedrooms, a 60-foot swimming pool and tennis courts spread over a picturesque five-acre riverside plot, we certainly can see why the Clooneys would savour a sojourn here, either temporarily or on a more permanent basis.
