A hamburger is comfort food at its best. Greasy, juicy and full of flavour, a hamburger traditionally has beef in it. However the staples which are also safe choices now, are chicken and a vegetarian option. But safe can get repetitive and boring, so if you're feeling adventurous and want to shake it up a bit, here's a list of some of the best and slightly different burgers the city has to offer.
Cafe Universal O.M.G burger- This small Parsi restaurant serves up a list of things from sandwiches to Dhansak but its claim to fame and signature dish is none other than its O.M.G burger. This makes all the other burgers on the menu look like mini sliders. Standing tall with six layers of beef, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions and an accompaniment of French fries; the first look and first bite into this juicy burger will have you going Oh My God! It is delicious.
Hard Rock Cafe - Known for their flavourful burgers, HRC is always my first choice for burgers and it never disappoints. 6oz of meat with melt in your mouth cheese, caramelised onions and whatever extra add-on you want in your burger, this one packs a punch. Served to you on a plate with a side salad and a load of fries this is one burger that you won’t mind sharing because chances are, you're taking half of it home in a doggy bag! However the one to really tackle is their legendary 10oz burger.
Cafe Zoë- The mini lamb burgers are a hot favourite among many. These bite sized burgers are perfect as a starter or even to munch along with drinks. The burger as a main dish is also worth mentioning but the star on the menu are those little mini treats.
Salt Water Cafe- It's not often one finds a fish burger on a restaurant menu unless you're ordering at McDonald's. Salt Water Cafe has taken a leap of faith with their "fish and chips" inspired burger with smoked malt mayo. We suggest you do the same, you won't be disappointed!
Woodside Inn- Known for their legendary beer and burger festival each year, this is one place that dishes out not only amazingly tasty burgers but innovative ones. Some included on their festival menu are the pancake burger and the Mexican burger with tortilla chips.
Indigo Deli - The burger selection might be short but each one is a burst of flavour in your mouth. From the traditional beef burger to the BBQ pulled pork belly with pickled onions or even the crispy chicken one, each burger has its own unique taste and is worth every penny. In fact they even serve some tempting vegetarian options like corn crusted potato and jalapeno burger. Not too big and not too small, each burger is perfectly sized and works as a filling and tasty meal.
