So, in anticipation of the INCA awards this year, here’s a look back at the category of the Best Bar in Hotel.
Hotel bars are a special type of watering hole. Whether it is their superior mixology skills, their one-of-a-kind ambience, or the prime location they’re situation in - the bar becomes a haunt for locals and travellers alike. In India, where stand-alone bars are a relatively new concept, hotel bars have existed since generations for the well-heeled in major metros. And with their popularity continuing to soar, many of them have become landmark destinations in their respective cities.
Last year, there were many bars vying for the Best Bar in a Hotel award at the INCA. Among the nominees were Wink (Mumbai), Junction (Kolkata), The Sky Lounge (Hyderabad), Bang (Bengaluru), The Library Bar (NCR), Mix@36 (Pune), Capiz Bar (Goa), and 365 AS (Chennai). The keenly-fought competition was won by The Library Bar, NCR.
Described as the “quintessential gentlemen’s club for guests of refined and sophisticated taste”, The Library Bar is situated inside The Leela Palace, which is also home to Megu and Le Cirque. Its interiors have been inspired by an era where Chesterfield chairs, cigars and brandy were the usual norm and if you’re looking for a quiet drink created out of the best spirits in the world, then the Library Bar is where deals are struck.
You can quietly sink into their couches, amid the striking decor which includes actual books on the walls, and place your order from an impressive selection of over 540 wines and champagnes. Their signature drinks include Malbec and Tuscany wine while the food menu is an amalgamation of Italian and Continental. Library Bar is one of a kind and has made a special place in the hearts and minds of the residents of the NCR as well as travellers from across the globe.
Riyaaz Amlani, President, NRAI recently stated how, “Nightlife is an integral part of the cultural landscape of our country, and the NRAI is absolutely thrilled to support INCA in their endeavour to recognize and celebrate thought leadership in this space.” So get set for this year’s INCA show which is being touted as “bigger and better” than ever before.
