Speaking about the need for a fancy seafood dining place in Mumbai, Zorawar Karla said, “Every metropolitan city in the country has a premium seafood restaurant. We felt it was missing in a city like Mumbai, which has a crazy seafood fan following.” The couple took about a year and a half to conceptualize R2O, and about another seven months to bring it to life.
Boasting of an elaborate menu which not only has local delicacies but also global seafood specialities like the famous tuna from the South of Australia, Japan’s hamachi and black cod from the Gulf of Alaska, Rivers To Oceans is a Mecca for seafood fanatics in Mumbai. R2O also features India’s first champagne and caviar bar.
The restaurant offers a delectable variety from all around the globe and also focuses on local produce. While the local produce is sourced from the authentic local fishermen, Dildeep Karla and Zorawar Kalra have travelled the world to find the ingredients for the other food on their menu. The ingredients for the recipes are imported from the world over.
The fine dine restaurant, with a pleasant aquatic ambience also offers two private dining rooms for those seeking a quiet meal with family and friends or wanting to celebrate a special occasion.
