Shiro, Lavelle Road
A long-time winner for sushi enthusiasts, Shiro offers a delightful experience with its live counter. A speciality modern Japanese restaurant located in UB City, it’s spacious with extreme eye to detail. The sushi and maki are composed with utmost care, making us give Shiro full points for presentation. Start with some Shiitake Sushi and then work your way through top-quality fish and, perfectly cooked rice, whether you’re having negi or rolls.

The Fatty Bao – Asian Gastro Bar, Indiranagar
One of Bengaluru’s most lauded and loved sushi places, the dishes here are innovative, with pristine quality and craftsmanship. Located in Indiranagar amidst a host of brilliant eateries, it was amongst the first restaurants in the city to introduce the concept of small plates. Their on-trend dishes like the Spicy Salmon Uramaki with cream cheese are among the best versions in the city, their classic nigiri is always flavourful, and they’ve got some brilliant rolls that are smart rather than just stuffed with sauce.

Yataii- Shangri – La Hotel, Vasanth Nagar
There’s a reason why Yataii is on our list of favourites, and it’s not just for the spectacular view it offers. The food here is also traditional Japanese but comes with a considerably more experimental twist. The head-turning menu features sections like kiku, kikyou and tubyaki. The complex yet precise flavours are the real wow factor at Yataii.
