BENGALURU’S 'THE TAO TERRACES' OFFERS SOME AUTHENTIC ASIAN FARE FOR CONNOISSEURS

Replete with some of the most iconic restaurants in the country, Bengaluru is every foodie’s haven. And one of the most revered spots in the IT capital is The Tao Terraces, nestled in MG Mall, perfect for those looking for some genuine Asian fare.

Step inside this multi-level rooftop lounge and fine dining space through its intricately carved wooden doors, and you’ll be delighted with its Balinese setting. With evocative statues strewn everywhere, water-based décor, and three Stupas placed right at the centre, the interiors of The Tao Terraces will surely delight you. The rooftop has a charm of its own and is reminiscent of the décor downstairs, and which also offers a bird’s eye view of the lovely city. But if the rains make you moody, then it is a better idea to choose the indoor seating, the ambience of which has the power to transport you to another world altogether.

The food menu is an amalgamation of Thai, Japanese, Korean, Burmese and Chinese delicacies where they have something for everyone. If you’re a dimsum lover, you can try out an assortment of their lip-smacking offerings such as the XO Seafood Dumplings, Chicken Sui Mai, Pork Gyoza, and the Bao Chicken BBQ Bao. Sushi and Sashmi aficionados are in for a treat and should pick either the melt-in-mouth Assorted Seafood Maki Platter or the tantalizing Assorted Sashmi.

Their salads and seafood are on point, and so is their meat and poultry section that includes heavenly delights such as the Ca-ri Ga – Vietnamese Chicken Curry, Korean Bulgogi, Teriyaki, Burmese Khao Suey with assorted condiments served with chicken/tenderloin/lamb, Wok Fried Shredded Chicken (with Baby Pok Choy, Mushroom Sichuan Chili and Green Onions), Hawker Style Chicken (with young ginger, star anise, red chili and bell peppers), and the Sliced Lamb (with Pokchay, Shitake mushroom, and red pepper in chili bean sauce).

Wash it down with one of their delectable signature cocktails, and you’re good to go. Dessert lovers should save some space for their interesting offerings such as the Walnut Toffee with Vanilla Ice Cream, Thai Dessert of the Day, or the Five Spices Infused White Belgium Chocolate and Corn Kernel “Bao Ji” to satiate their sweet tooth.
