Throwing a house party can be quite a task! From making arrangements for food to making cocktails, there’s a lot that one has to do to please one’s guests. I prefer adding a personal touch to all the cocktails and more often than not, I end up making all of them myself. I like to keep a variety of alcohol for pre-booze, party, and after-party. But one magic ingredient that goes well with all kinds of liquor is gin. It tastes like heaven and it goes well with all kinds of ingredients. So here, I’ve compiled a list of all gin-based cocktails that will liven up your parties and give you that much needed buzz. Read on, and you’ll be more than convinced that gin is the holy nectar that all of us ought to drink!

Giving Romeo-Juliet’s love story a run for its money, it’s the perfect coupling of gin and lime. A match made in heaven, gin and lime taste so good together that it’s unreal! To make a Gimlet, all you’ve got to do is mix gin, lime and sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add ice cubes and there you have it, the drool worthy Gimlet cocktail! Garnish with lime zest (cause aesthetics, y’all!)
4. Tom Collins
● 50ml Gordon's gin
● 25ml lemon juice
● 25ml sugar syrup
● 125ml chilled soda water
Nothing tastes more ethereal than the mixture of gin, lime juice and soda! Tom Collins is a classic drink that won’t disappoint you! All you have to do is add a liberal amount of ice in the drink followed by gin, lime juice and soda! Top it off with a brandied cherry. There it is - your easy peasy lemon squeezy cocktail! (pun intended).
5. Apricot Passion
● 30ml Gordon's gin
● 2 tsp apricot glaze or sieved apricot jam
● 30ml passion fruit juice drink (from a 1 litre carton)
● 10ml lime juice
Fruity, tangy and tasty; this drink has a dash of almost every flavour that we would want our cocktail to have. Pour gin and Apricot jam with crushed ice into the cocktail shaker and stir till the jam dissolves. Pour in passion fruit juice drink, add ice and stir a little more. Garnish it as you please. Personally, I enjoy a slice of apricot ‘cause it goes well with the flavor. There you have it, a cocktail that has all the flavours of a mixed fruit juice, only better!
