DELICIOUS FRUIT COCKTAILS: TRY THEM NOW!

This season, we’re loving our fruits – strawberries, kiwis, peaches and what not – bring them on, we say! So I got experimenting with our cocktails and decided to investigate further into the best cocktail recipes with fresh fruits. I’ve intentionally left out the recipes with the easy mixers like cola, opting for the fresh fruit options instead. Go on, give them a try (especially the last one, loaded with delicious Nutella!)

With strawberries – the Berryoska
Everyone loves strawberries, right? Just go ahead and mix it up in the classic drink for all seasons – take lemonade, mix in some finely sliced strawberries, add a splash of Smirnoff Vodka and that’s all! The drink is delicious and refreshing – serve with a garnishing of strawberries.

With watermelon – A delicious cooler
Watermelons are universal favourites – so juicy and sweet! Mix up some fresh watermelon juice an unlikely partner – a muddle of cucumbers – for this heavenly drink. Add a dash of Tanqueray Gin and you’re ready to go. Yes, the combination may sound a bit unusual, but trust us on this one. It’s just what you need to rejuvenate yourself after a stressful week (along with a few hours by the beach, if you know what I mean!)

With peaches – A smoothing white Julep
Peaches are one of the more underrated fruits – when eaten at just he right time, deliciously sweet – but otherwise, not so much. A modern take on the classic mint julep, this cocktail adds fresh white peaches and peach liqueur to the bourbon and mint mix. The result is a fantastic drink for just about any occasion!

With pineapples – This lovely mojito
If you’re dreaming of a tropical paradise (and yet are miles away from one) this lovely pineapple mojito is definitely a step in the right direction. The devil is in the detail – and the simplicity. You can add both fresh and juiced pineapple to a classic rum along with mint, and lime drink. Stick in one of those cute cocktail umbrellas if you can. Mix it all up, slap on that sun lotion and bask in some sunshine – if you can’t make it to that tropical paradise, let it come to you!

With Oranges – this creamy Martini
With oranges, somehow the vivid world of cocktail making just seems to lose its creativity and go the boring way – no longer we say. This orange cream Martini sounds amazing – and I cannot wait to try it. All you need is some whipped cream, Ciroc Vodka, fresh Orange Juice, Orange Zest and sugar.

With Bananas – This spiked Nutella Shake
If you’re keen to see how this seemingly common fruit can take on uncommon flavours, look no further. And if Nutella makes you wild, again, look no further! This rum-spiked milkshake is creamy, rich and delicious. The ingredients are pretty basic – banana, Nutella, milk, vanilla extract and ice. Blend it all together and the magic will unfold! You can garnish the cocktail by rimming it with Nutella and crushed nuts.
If there are other fruits in season (think – pears, berries, mangoes of course) think of interesting and exciting ways to blend them into your cocktails. Because the charm of a fresh, fruity cocktail is just something else!
