Ed Sheeran takes a New Year pause
He’s the guy responsible for rocking the party but, after 16-months of doing just that while touring the globe, Ed Sheeran is signing out for a year-end pause. Having wrapped up the last night of his world tour in New Zealand on December 12, Ed took to his Instagram account to make his decision official.
In a candid note to family, friends and fans, he wrote: “Hello all. I’m taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while, I’ve had such an amazing ride over the last 5 years but I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes so I’m taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see everything I missed (sic).”
It’s a pause that will do the chart-topping singer a world of good, seeing as he is also due to have an ear-related surgical procedure early in the new year. “To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit,” Ed continued in his post.
Promising a third album that is the “best thing” he has “made thus far,” Ed signed out. Now, while gushing fans wait for that one, we will content ourselves by singing along to ‘Sing’ as we party it up on New Year’s Eve!
