Virat Kohli has now become the most popular Indian celebrity on the social media networking site Facebook with more than 35 million fans, thus overtaking none other than Tubelight star Salman Khan by more than 6,00,000 followers.
The 28-year-old batsman is now just behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has 42.2 million Facebook followers. Talking about it, Kohli said, “This is all the result of what we do on field and if people like it, we automatically feel good about it.”
The RCB skipper also features in the list of the fastest growing sportsmen pages on Facebook, led by football stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. All the top ten athletes include footballers except Kohli and American wrestler John Cena.
Besides Facebook, Virat Kohli also has 16 million followers on Twitter and 14 million on Instagram and holds the top spot as the most famous cricketer of all times around the world.
Must say, apart from being a star on-field, this young lad is quite an achiever off-field too.
