Finally, the much-talked about clash between Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil has happened. And while the trade is going hammer and tongs about who is going to rake in more moolah, as a moviegoer you might be in a bigger dilemma as to which one should you pick to watch this weekend.
Well, worry not! We have tried to make the tough decision a bit easy for you by breaking down Raees and Kaabil on their individual strengths and weaknesses. Based on that, make your choice
While director Sanjay Gupta’s Kaabil is a revenge drama, where Rohan Bhatnagar (Hrithik Roshan), who is visually impaired seeks revenge, Rahul Dholakia’s Raees is supposedly based on real-life gangster – Abdul Latif and traces the life of Raees (Shah Rukh Khan) from a quick-witted kid to a successful bootlegger in Gujarat.
The narratives of Kaabil unfolds interestingly and keep the viewers engaged from start to end. Whereas Raees though kick starts with full vigour, the energy drops in second half and the story falls flat.

Both films ride high on action. The only difference is that in one it’s a visually impaired Hrithik’s character, who is doing the action and in other, an extremely hot looking SRK is involved in some stylized dhisoom-dhisoom sequences. While there might be some curiosity as to how a blind man manages to win over the baddies, Raees has some really high-octane, fast-paced sequences and also boasts of one of the best chase scenes. Action lovers will definitely prefer the action sequences of Raees over Kaabil.
Kaabil’s soundtrack is sweet but nothing that remarkably stands out. Raees’ soundtrack on the other hand with the distinct flavor of 80s effortlessly makes an impact.
The beautiful Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is paired opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Raees, whereas the fair and lovely girl – Yami Gautam is seen as Hrithik’s love interest in Kaabil. While Mahira does manage to leave an impression, it’s Yami Gautam who with her blind act simply win our hearts.
The two stars – Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan both are simply fantastic and will make your jaws drop with their performances. Hrithik aces his blind act and SRK in a never-seen-before avatar gobsmacks you as he rules every frame with his performance. It would be unfair to choose one over the other at least in this department and both – Hrithik and Shah Rukh have done complete justice to their roles.
Raees also boasts of another powerhouse of talent – Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is a delight to watch. On the other hand, Kaabil too has a solid supporting cast with the likes of Ronit Roy (He is simply superb), Rohit Roy, Girish Kulkarni and Narendra Jha.
As mentioned earlier, both film score well as far as the performances are concerned.
