HERE IS ALIA BHATT'S HONEST TAKE ON NEPOTISM

Nepotism has been the most talked about subject in Bollywood ever since the Queen actress Kangana Ranaut tagged Karan Johar on his show – Koffee With Karan, as the ‘flagbearer of nepotism’ last year. Since then several B-Towners have shared their two bits on this topic.

Recently, Alia Bhatt, who is currently busy shooting for her supernatural flick Brahmastra, with rumoured beau – Ranbir Kapoor, got candid about the topic which has been a burning topic for over a year now.

The Raazi actor, who had earlier commented on the subject stating that, “I think a star kid can get that first film due to nepotism. But to constantly get films just because you belong to a filmi family, is not possible”, has a very different and a mature take on nepotism now.

Alia in a recent conversation with a daily said, “Of late, I have realised that there is no need to defend the nepotistic nature of the industry because it does exist. The reason why it has become an emotional debate is because those who don’t get a chance, it is difficult for them. If I was on the other side, I would be heartbroken. I may have felt the same way. Yes, it does exist everywhere, but this is the only business where there’s no fixed funda. You need to be at the right place at the right time. For instance, if you want to be a doctor, you study, give your examination and get a job. In the film business, you can do whatever you want, but there has to be that X-factor that people talk about.”

Well, the girl has certainly matured and has made a very sensible and honest point about nepotism.

On the work front, post Brahmastra, Alia will soon start shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, where she will be seen sharing screen space with Ranveer Singh for the first time.
