Kim Kardashian has done it and now Kid Cudi follows suit. Continuing the trend of celebrities offering their social media followers an opportunity to interact with them in real life, 31-year-old rapper Kid Cudi called out to fans by issuing an open invitation on Twitter to join him at a screening of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ on January 2. The musician bought all the tickets for an 11 pm screening of the latest instalment of the epic space opera franchise at a theatre in California and then asked fans to meet him at the venue with one of his albums or some type of official Kid Cudi merchandise. Adding that the first people to get there by 10.50 pm would receive a single adult ticket to the special screening “on the house” with Kid Cudi and his friends, the rapper said: “I pretty much bought the entire theatre so let’s pack it up!” As to the reason for his spur-of-the-moment generosity to fans, the self-confessed Star Wars fan explained, “Why am I doing this? It’s Star Wars. And why not! I thought it would be cool to start the year off watching a great film for the third time with some great company.” We couldn’t agree more. After all, real fun starts with real people!
