Caitlyn Jenner (formerly Bruce) has become this decade’s poster person for playing bold — her private struggle and strength providing a public platform for increasing wide-scale acceptance for the global transgender community.
Continuing to serve as an inspiration to anyone who has ever grappled with their identity — transgender or not — Caitlyn has recently teamed up with M.A.C Cosmetics to further the cause of this marginalised group.
“Her beautiful transformation inspires all of us to live our best lives and to honour who we are. Differences are what make us interesting. Acceptance, warmth and understanding are what make us human,” say the good folks at M.A.C, who have always celebrated courage, fearlessness, honesty and compassion.
“People come up to me and tell their stories, that they have a trans person in their family who they never ever talked about before, it was kind of swept under the rug. And now, they are being open about it. So, for me, it’s been an amazing experience,” says Caitlyn, while also confessing to being hurt by the horror stories of people who have not transitioned with such ease.
As the face of the brand’s new lipstick, Finally Free, Jenner and MAC will direct proceeds from the sale of this product to the MAC AIDS Fund Transgender Initiative, which provides essential support to transgender community projects.
The lipstick will be available exclusively on www.maccosmetics.com from April 7 onwards, making now the perfect time to pucker up for positive change!
