Sometimes the greatest challenge of all is battling the insecurities within you. This week, award-winning artiste Adele confesses to having taken up the royal challenge of fighting her fears — and we’re happy to report she has come out stronger for it.
As the singer prepares to release her much-awaited new album after a three-year sabbatical (during which she has largely avoided the public eye), Adele opens up. “I’m sorry it took so long (to release another album), but you know, life happened,” writes the ‘Rolling in the Deep’ singer, in a heartfelt message to her fans. “I feel like I’ve spent my whole life so far wishing it away. Always wishing I was older, wishing I was somewhere else, wishing I could remember and wishing I could forget too. Wishing I hadn’t ruined so many good things because I was scared or bored.”
Having hit 25 — and naming her new album ‘25’ to mark her age once again — it seems Adele has rediscovered herself. She is finally comfortable with the past and looking forward to the future. “My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one, I would call it a make-up record. I’m making up with myself,” says Adele, while we applaud her bold move.
