Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park - Orlando, Florida
The blizzard-themed water park also has a lazy river where you can float around all day long. But hey, that’s not what you’re expected to do a park that features one of the world's tallest and fastest free-falling waterslides. There are also Disney movie-themed activities for the entire family to enjoy here.
Must-do ride(s): Adventure-seekers should take the opportunity to race against friends on Downhill Double Dipper's side-by-side water slides.
Beach Park - Aquiraz, Brazil
The biggest water park in Latin America’s largest country is, for some reason, rated among the safest across the globe as well. It is home to various different pools, saunas, ecological walks and artificial rapids. One of the biggest attractions here is Treasure Island that comprises water cannons, an artillery wall and a lighthouse with a spiral.
Must-do ride(s): A crazy water slide, the height of 14 floors (definitely not for the faint-hearted).
Aquaventure Waterpark - Dubai, United Arab Emirates
This waterpark, at Atlantis the Palm, has been recognised among the most popular ones in the Middle East for several years now. Along with the adrenaline rushing rides, you can also get up close and personal with sharks and rays or kick back and relax on 700 metres of pristine private beach at this stimulating waterpark.
Must-do ride(s): The Tower of Neptune is filled with dark mysterious tunnels ready to catapult visitors into the Shark Lagoon and the incredible water coasters.
Waterbom Bali - Kuta, Indonesia
This one is rated among the best waterparks on the entire Asian continent. And, why not? It features some of the world’s fastest and most extreme slides through 3.8 hectares of landscaped tropical parks, providing hours of fun and entertainment.
Must-do ride(s): Pipeline, which is perched 20 m high and whisks riders along a twisting and banking tube; the extra speedy Fast n' Fierce with two open slides side by side; and the terrifying Climax, with a near-vertical dip.
Siam Park - Adeje, Spain
One of the world’s most famous waterpark, this spectacular facility is set in the backdrop of Thai architecture. From meandering rivers to free-fall slides, there can be few better venues for an epic adventure. The thrilling toboggan ride Singha even has visitors travel at 18 m per second around 240 m of high speed curves and change direction 14 times.
Must-do ride(s): The Tower of Power throws you down at an almost vertical 28 m drop in a transparent tube, immersed in a shark-filled aquarium.
The desi delights
Water Kingdom, Mumbai
Water Kingdom is one of the oldest water parks in India, and you might remember seeing it in advertisements while growing up. The rides are equally exciting, and will give you an unforgettable experience. You might think that you need to be a great swimmer to enjoy this place, but that notion is wrong. Since these are all recreational rides, you can forget about drowning.
Must-do ride(s): Their What A Coster drops from a high altitude, and the speed reaches up to 65 kmph to give your heart a real pumping.
Aqua Magica, Pune
Aqua Magica lies somewhere between Mumbai and Pune, and is extremely high on the thrill factor. If you manage to cut through the traffic on holidays, it's a great experience. The amusement park located right next to it, Imagica, is equally thrilling, but it is advisable that you visit just one place in one day. Otherwise, you will miss out on a lot of exciting rides.
Must-do ride(s): Rides like Twisty Turly and Loopy Woopy should definitely be on your list
