The city that never sleeps—Mumbai—makes sure that you live by that credo with the abundance of indulgences it has on offer. Post IPL match pampering in the city was never this good, trust us!
Colour me up
There is a virtual explosion of IPL team colours themed cocktails out there and we bring you a couple:
1. The United Sports Bar and Grill’s Mango Sunrise in honour of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
2. Trikaya’s Passionera in honour of Chennai Super Kings
Perfect for that post IPL match stay, the Rajput Suite truly is The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai’s crown jewel. The suite experience begins when you are picked up in a limousine and directly checked into the suite that has been re-designed recently by David Edwards of James Park Associates, Singapore. Adorned with a charming theme, rich textures and opulent décor, the suite offers a spacious bedroom, living room, dining area and a large bathroom with Italian Satwario marble, rain shower heads and a separate bath tub along with Forest Essential amenities. Along with a personal butler, the price also includes breakfast and high tea in the legendary Sea Lounge, evening cocktail hour at The Taj Mahal Palace Lounge, chocolates, fresh flowers, a fruit basket and a choice of newspapers and magazines.
The I-Deck at China House, Grand Hyatt, Mumbai is a PDR located on the mezzanine level of this celebrated Chinese restaurant. Minimally lit, this relaxing retreat offers the perfect setting to linger after dinner over fine single malt or to celebrate an occasion (like a team’s win!) with a few near and dear ones. And, if one desires, break away from the seductive atmosphere, switch gears and connect to your own I-pod, listen to your music and sink into the mesmerising feel of your own arena. After all, the “I deck” is all about your unique personality. While the cynosure of all eyes in this interactive space is the guests themselves, the enchanting vibes makes a perfect setting for intimate lounging and conversation, whether over pre-dinner drinks or late-night cocktails that complements brilliantly the extensive menu of appetisers and desserts served here.
A long day at the Wankhede Stadium cheering on your favourite team can take the Mickey out of most! Then, simply hop on down to Colaba and treat yourself to a luxury four-part Royal Grooming Experience pampering session at one India’s… nay, the world’s best and most exclusive barber shops a.k.a. Truefitt & Hill. As one of the oldest barber shops in the world—having been established in 1805—Truefitt & Hill is a London landmark. The package can either be availed in its entirety for `5,300 with its four treatments of a manicure, pedicure, hair cut and shave together or each availed of separately in three parts.
This luxurious almost three hour long pampering session all using signature Truefitt & Hill products unfolds with a Royal Manicure and a Royal Pedicure (Rs. 2,000 for both) that is pampering at its best. A nail cut, wax exfoliation and foot soak are followed up with a massage using soothing shea butter. With a final five-minute silver foil wrap, your hand and foot pampering is finished off with a moisturiser application and nail buffing.
For the Royal Haircut (Rs. 2,000), one can choose from a number of styles that a skilled stylist will execute till you are fully satisfied with the outcome. A nourishing and soothing massage using oils of your choice is followed up with a shampoo. A blow dry and some final styling using hair gel and wax seal the deal.
And now for the last part of your day of pampering, the Royal Shave (Rs. 1,700). The application of pre-shave oil, hot towel wraps and rich shaving creams (applied using their specially crafted badger hair brushes) make for a superbly executed shave that also includes a deep relaxing face massage with a mini facial.
