The Fatty Bao is Asian dining meets fun, inventive rooftop bar experience. The Fatty Bao, a great new addition to Indiranagar’s exuberant dining-out/drinking precinct, introduces the city to yet another new concept – the Asian Gastro Bar. The love child of two fabulous ideas—new Asian-style dining and a cool rooftop bar, The Fatty Bao—an Asian Gastro Bar, is a lively offering, rooted firmly in both fun as well as quality. Soulful chasu ramen, melt in the mouth pork belly, lamb shanks braised in a masssaman curry, tobiko rolled California rolls and mapo tofu in baby wanton cups, oysters broiled with mushrooms, soy and chorizo; sit comfortably on the menu.

While this may seem a bit naff to most, the idea of escaping the urbs primus of Bengaluru to learn cheesemaking in the Nilgiris might just be what the IPL doctor ordered. And what better than learn it from one of Bollywood’s most prolific filmmakers! Yes, eschewing a successful career as one of Bollywood’s top film directors, Mansoor Khan (of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar fame), has, along with his wife Tina, been running the very popular Acres Wild organic cheesery and farmstay (homestay with bed and breakfast) in Coonoor for over a decade now. This 22 acre, family-run organic cheesemaking farm and farmstay is about 20 km from Ooty (Udhagamandalam). So, now, learning to perfect the art of making a yummy organic Gouda or a soft Brie cheese is just a quick getaway away. Rustic chic at its best we say!
Likely to exchange high-fives with: Bengaluru girls and Bollywood beauties like Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma (obviously!) are sure to turn on the heat. What say, Captain!?
