From Jersey to Jaipur, Priyanka Chopra is no stranger to the jet-set world. Having walked the ramp for über-talented Delhi-designer Varun Bahl only days ago, PC is out and about in the Pink City today, aggressively promoting her Mary Kom biopic. Pulling no punches, Priyanka has been pushing her launch agenda by talking to journos everywhere about fitness — sharing her mantras for staying healthy. “Don’t starve yourself,” is her top tip, but she’s quick to add that one needs to strike a balance by working out and burning it all.
It may be a barely-disguised marketing gimmick, but we’re no less impressed by some of the thoughts Priyanka is mouthing. In a series of posts titled ‘What I Learnt in the Ring,’ PC tells her Twitter followers: “Guarding, hitting and moving are the three elements of combat in boxing and in life.” These wise words have for company quotable quotes from other icons like Bruce Lee and Muhammad Ali. “Every champion was once a contender that refused to give up,” says another post, courtesy Sylvester Stallone in character as Rocky Balboa. And then there’s: “Never give up on something you can’t go a day without thinking about,” by Winston Churchill.
While you think about all these great lines, we’re thinking about the business promoting ‘Mary Kom’ — there’s no doubt that with a campaign like this one, the audience will expect a knock-out film!
