Rehab regulars: Shia LaBeouf, Portia de Rossi and Robin Williams

As the monsoon finally rains down on our side of the world, it is rehab season in far-away Hollywood. A steady stream of A-list starshave checked into rehab recently: from Shia LaBeouf and Portia de Rossi, to the legendary Robin Williams (who is proving to be a rehab regular)!

Transformers star Shia is receiving treatment for addiction at a rehab centre and has yet to check-in fulltime, with reports suggesting that he has “voluntarily opted to seek professional help for his issues, following his arrest in New York City last week.” A representative for the 28-year-old actor has said, “Shia LaBeouf… understands that theserecent actions are a symptom of a larger health problem and he hastaken the first of many necessary steps towards recovery.” Shia was charged with harassment, disorderlyconduct and criminal trespassing on June 26, after he allegedlybegan yelling offensive language and slapping people’s bottoms midwaythrough a Broadway performance at Studio 54.

Ally McBeal actress Portia de Rossi, on the other hand, allegedly spent the month of May in rehab— seeking treatment for drug-related issues after an argument with herwife Ellen DeGeneres. Insiders say that Portia had been isolatingherself, and Ellen recently confronted her, resulting in the rehab stint.Over a decade ago, the gorgeous blonde actress spent time in rehab to receive treatment for an eatingdisorder, after her weight reportedly plunged to just 37 kilos.

Of course the biggest shocker of them all is 62-year-old Robin Williams’ recent round in rehab; though friends say there is nothing to be alarmed about in Robin’s case. A rep for the Oscar-winner confirms: “After working back-to-back projects,Robin is simply taking the opportunity to fine-tune and focus on hiscontinued commitment, of which he remains extremely proud.” In the late Seventies and early Eighties, Robin battled with cocaine addiction, though he has been clean a long time now. If the first step is admitting to an addition and the next is getting help, we’re assured of better times ahead for these incredible actors.
