Jennifer Lawrence accepts a royal challenge!

Jennifer Lawrence takes out the competition with élan in the ‘The Hunger Games’ but her real-life battles have proved tougher to overcome. Ever since our favourite ‘girl on fire’ shot to worldwide superstardom, she has struggled with the paparazzi. Most celebrities accept that pushy paps are a part of the fame package and just move on, but for JLaw acceptance has been harder to achieve.

Over the years, she has ignored the chaotic paparazzi as far as possible. Yet, on a handful of occasions, the actress has found it impossible to tolerate their interference in her life. Notably, in October 2014, the actress stepped out of a restaurant hiding her face behind a handbag and refused to be photographed. With her face sheltered from the cameras, JLaw asked her team where her car was. When the paparazzi answered her question, she fired at them, “I’m talking to people who actually do something for a living!” Then, in a televised interview with Clevver News, JLaw confessed that she’d happily poison one photographer in particular, for bringing his girlfriend on a stakeout, as if spying on the actress was a suitable activity on date night!

But where there’s a will (and a brilliant mind) eventually one steps up to the plate, picks up the gauntlet and accepts the challenge. So, late last month, JLaw devised a new plan. Instead of allowing the paparazzi to intimidate her, the actress spontaneously decided to have some fun with them. After sushi dinner at a Japanese restaurant, JLaw and her girl gang saw the usual clutch of photographers waiting outside. This time, deciding to tackle the paps with a head-on approach, Jennifer stepped out of the eatery with chopsticks dangling from her mouth. Pretending to be a walrus, she sashayed to her car and zoomed off, unfazed, into the night.

It’s an attitude change that insiders suggest the actress is likely to adopt going forward — instead of getting flustered, now JLaw hopes to make the best of a bad situation by having some fun with it.

“It upset me for so many years, and it still does upset me,” Jennifer confesses, adding, “It isn’t nice, but the best way to survive is just to laugh and have fun with it.” We couldn’t agree more!
