From rocking with Mickey Rourke and Guy Ritchie to the likes of Gerard Butler and Rita Ora, Jason Statham certainly knows how to unfake it at a party. For the longest time, however, the British action star has been battling another issue that needed an ‘unfake’ response.
Last month, with his first post on Instagram, the ‘Crank’ star took on a plethora of phonies with a simple message: “This is my first official post on Instagram. Sorry to those that have been following the string of phonies pretending to be me. From now on it's real. Cheers!”
The 47-year-old actor set up an account on the photo-sharing site on March 22, uploading a picture of himself leaning against a black beast of a car. This was barely a week after his super-hot girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whiteley shared an intimate post in celebration of their fifth anniversary (since they started dating, that is).
Having followed up his first post with only eight other images, Jason has yet to really embrace the medium—but what he lacks in quantity, he makes up for in quality! On April 17, the actor posted a portrait of himself in a ring, boxing gloves et al, with every bicep bulging. Prior to that, a fabulous Ferrari made a cameo appearance on April 7 and then a few ‘Furious 7’ publicity pictures made the cut.
Of course, knowing that this is in fact the ‘unfake’ Jason Statham makes all the difference — in under a month the actor has already amassed 366k followers!
