Apparently Rishi Kapoor is writing an autobiography. Not a bad idea, I’d say. What with his illustrious family history, his own impressive career and his totally-trendy son as subjects to dwell on, this book is sure to attract buyers of all ages.
But all this buzz being generated by Rishi’s proposed memoirs have my mind drifting off in another direction. I can’t help but think back to another tantalising tome… Some years ago, Sushmita Sen made headlines for suggesting she would title her autobiography ‘Butterfly,’ and though she hadn’t started penning it, everyone from Shobhaa De to Mandira Bedi was asked to comment on whether they would read the musings of the former beauty queen.
Known to speak her mind (but also rumoured to have some deep dark secrets), everyone debated what Sush would reveal and which other big names would find mention in the actress’ tell-all. However, only a few days after the news broke, Sush wrote the whole matter off as media-made fiction. She said she had been misquoted and misrepresented — making it very clear that no tome was in the works.
Sush has since released the autobiography of Mary Kom and, tomorrow (January 30), she is all set to unveil another book — this time for debutant author Shraddha Soni. And while the soon-to-be released novel is not the biography we’ve all been waiting for, its title ‘I Am Life’ would certainly have been suited for Sush!
