David Duchovny refuses to let Téa Leoni join the ‘ex’ files!
Here’s a case of the ‘ex’ files that refuses to close! TV star David Duchovny is apparently courting his estranged wife Téa Leoni once more, with the comely couple being spotted together twice in the last few weeks. The pair (who have a 15-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old son) married in 1997, but separated in 2008 amidst scandal; with Duchovny checking into a facility to be treated for sex addiction the same year. Since then, they have attempted to rekindle their romance, but ended up splitting again in June 2011. If onlookers are to be believed, this new effort at making things work seems to be going well. Last month, they were spotted with kids Madelaine and Kyd on Fire Island in New York. “They were smiling and cuddling up with one another. They walked hand in hand and shared a kiss,” say eyewitnesses, while insiders suggest that David and Téa’s kids seem thrilled at the prospect of a family reunion. “They seemed like the perfect family,” says an onlooker who spotted them on vacation in Fire Island. Then, last week, the two stars lounged around on a beach in Malibu, laughing together and looking relaxed and happy.
Only two years ago, when Duchovny was asked about his marital status in an interview, he insisted he was still married, assigning ‘separated’ status to his relationship with Leoni. So was it really his sex addiction that put a strain on their marriage? While mum in response to a direct question, David has said in the past: “Sex, to me, means I can forget myself. It’s just the moment. I heard that skiing is even better than sex. It could be possible — but I’m not a skier.” His marriage may be inconsistent, but his sense of humour is steadfast!
