After writing two books on the legendary Amitabh Bachchan and world famous artist M F Hussain, ace photojournalist Pradeep Chandra has now launched his coffee table book on actor Aamir Khan. The book is titled ‘Aamir Khan: Actor Activist Achiever’ and has over 280 pages containing rare pictures of the star. The book was released and graced by Poet, Journalist, Painter and Author Pritish Nandy, at Westin Mumbai Garden City on Sunday.
When asked why Aamir as the subject for his third book, and not anyone else among his equally famous contemporaries Pradeep said, “I have written books on Mr. Bachchan and M F Hussain saab. I thought for few months about who shall be next on my radar. I thought of Aamir as my ideal contender since he is different and has created a social impact with the society because of his show ‘Satyamev Jayate’, which strengthened my conviction on writing on him.” Published by Niyogi Books, the pictorial biography took Pradeep about a year to compile the photographs, stills, essays as well as interviews that were conducted exclusively for the book. The book has over 200 pictures of the actor and features perspectives of those who know Aamir from close quarters.
The Foreword of the book is drafted by Rajat Sharma, Chairman and Editor-in Chief of India TV. Pradeep Chandra's book launch had socialites including Aarti and Kailash Surendranath, Ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar, actors Dalip Tahil, Murli Sharma among many others.
