Celebrity News : Where Cricket Meets Bollywood!
We’re always striving to write about the world from a unique point of view. We’re particularly fond of the clever turn of phrase and nothing makes us happier than being credited for prose that abounds with quick wit. Sadly though, it is not often we come across a newspaper article that ticks all the boxes as a great morning read. Most days, we’re reading with an imaginary red pen in hand and editing as we go!
Yesterday, however, The Times of India carried a front-page gem on none other than Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. “Afraid of succumbing to fine leg, is Indian cricket falling for silly point?” the writer asks, under a headline that reads: ‘Anushka can’t stay with Virat.’ The article continues: “BCCI (the Board of Control for Cricket) may not have made a formal announcement yet, but wives and girlfriends (WAGs) will not be allowed to stay with Indian players during the World Cup, starting ironically on Valentine’s Day.”
As a report about a ‘sporting encounter’ of the other kind, this piece certainly made us smile. Sadly though, the story is credited to the ‘Times News Network,’ so we don’t know which bright writer to praise for it. Instead, we’re left to think about Anushka’s fine legs, and those are worth commendation too!
