A ‘divine’ evening with Dimple Nahar

All that glittered was gold, as Dimple Nahar unveiled her store ‘2DIVINE – The Lifestyle Temple’ in South Mumbai’s swish Walkeshwar area on December 20. From sequinned curtains to lush trees painted in gold leaf, guests agreed the salon’s interiors had earned its ‘divine’ moniker many times over. Hailing from a family with business interests in construction, it was no surprise that Dimple’s retail venture hit a high note from a visual point of view — however it was her equally glamorous guest list that had shutterbugs clamouring for a shot of the action. A sari-clad Smita Thackeray surveyed the store, while Raveena Tandon (looking stunning in an ensemble by Surily Goel) helped light the inaugural lamp. Dimple herself wore a pale pink bodycon dress by Ramona Narang — garnering praise for the pretty designer, who was also present. Kaajal Anand, fashion designer Deepika Gehani and filmi face Raman Trikha were amongst the others in attendance; apart from family members like Dimple’s dad Sukhraj Nahar and brother Ajay. When guests finally exited the event having sampled high tea and hors d’oeuvres, several had stocked up on Dimple’s handpicked household wares and luxurious curios. Unfortunately, the most coveted item in the store that evening — a set of peacock-inspired earrings worn by the entrepreneurial hostess — were not for sale.
