Talking about a light refreshing drink during the day, the only thing that comes to my mind is the delicious Gin & Tonic aka G&T; one of the best combinations with Gin. Actually one can have G&T just about any time of the day or night, just how Billy Joel said in his song, “There’s an old man sitting next to me, making love to his tonic & Gin”. Lime works well with it. However, if you’d like to add a twist to it, try replacing the lime with a thin cucumber slice/stick or couple of Basil leaves, and see how it works its magic in your G & T.
A Martini cocktail means Gin. A cocktail replaced with Vodka is a Vodkatini. However many bars make flavored Vodkatini and still call it a Martini. E.g. The famous “Green Apple Martini”. For more variations of flavored Vodkatini, replace the flavor.
A good Gin can be had as a Cocktail, with no mixers. Just chill your gin by stirring it over ice, pour it in a chilled Martini glass and add green olives…Boom, you have just made an Extra dry Martini.
Add a cocktail Onion instead of the olives and turn your Martini into a Gibson.
To make an easy & mouthwatering Gin based cocktails. Take a Collins Glass, fill it with ice, add 45ml of Gin if not more and top it with Tonic water. Add a Slice of lime and say Cheers, to the famous G& T.
London dry Gin is not always from London and no two Gins are alike, so tasting different Gins will widen your horizon and you might end up being a Gin fanatic.
