Show review-Falguni & Shane Peacock
Fast forward to the future.
The throng of guests at the finale show of Signature International Fashion Weekend 2013 could have been forgiven for thinking they were at a hipper-than-thou New York loft or an infamous Berlin nightclub. For the Falguni & Shane Peacock (FSP) show, the ramp was dressed in mysteriously wispy chiffon tents, oozing high octane glamour — characteristic of the husband-wife duo who believe that “life’s too short to blend in.”
After an upbeat audio-visual on the brand’s associations with global glamour icons like Britney Spears, Fergie and Paris Hilton, the night took off on a supersonic rocket to a glitzy planet where flamboyance partied with fierce sex appeal. The tents soared up to reveal the brand’s killer bodysuits with studding and metallic detailing. Sporting almost-white bob wigs, the models looked like glamazonians: their outfits fusing galactic elements with baroque touches. We were sold on FSP’s signature feather and faux fur trims on sizzling black, red and purple. The body was once again in focus with floor-length sheer cover-ups over bodysuits and a mind-boggling array of experimental prints. While Miss Universe Canada, Sahar Biniaz set the flashbulbs on fire in a sheer cover-up over a sexy bodysuit, a more demure Jacqueline Fernandez closed the memorable show in a metallic tube gown.
ABSOLUTELY LUST-WORTHY:Falguni & Shane Peacock’s deadly digital print pants with bold splashes of colour on black, silver and gold that are the second skin we’re dying to slip into!
