Model Diaries: Parvathy Omanakuttan

Drumroll and bugles, the queen cometh! She may call herself a tomboy, but her fluid moves on the ramp are fast becoming the stuff of legend. LIVEINSTYLE.COM hangs out with former Miss India Parvathy Omanakuttan, trying to discover her secrets and pet peeves. Here are her responses on a variety of trending topics, including her favourite designer at Signature International Fashion Weekend 2013…

On her fitness regime

“I work out every day; usually for about an hour or longer.”

On her penchant for sports

“I used to play basketball, but given the general shortage of space and the amount of time that we spend working, I don’t really get the time to play a sport consistently any more. I love to swim, play table tennis and I even enjoy badminton.”

On the SIFW 2013 designer she’ll wear off-ramp

“I think all the Signature International Fashion Weekend 2013 designers showcased a unique style. I loved all the outfits I wore. I guess one can wear the international names (like Bora Aksu and Mark Fast) when one goes abroad.”

On the worst pick-up line anyone has ever used on her

“I have always been like a tomboy, so no one has really ever dared to use a pick-up line on me.”

On her dream date

“I’m a big Leonardo DiCaprio fan, so he would certainly be my dream date. If I had to pick an Indian man though, it would be Hrithik Roshan all the way!”

On the model-turned-actress she admires

“I think Deepika Padukone has done a fabulous job.” (DP’s model fan club keeps getting bigger!)

On her professional ‘Signature’ moment

“It has to be the Miss World competition. It changed my perspective on life — the way I interact with people. A lot of what I am today is because of that pageant.”

Her beauty secret

“It is very important to keep your face clean. I would recommend wearing minimum make-up, as far as possible. If wearing make-up is a must, I would say please use well-known brands and remove the make-up as soon as you can. Never, ever sleep with make-up on!”
