Girls Night Out

Mumbai is the city of lights and dreams and also one of the best party destinations in the country. Appropriately touted as the city that never sleeps, Mumbai has fabulous places for everybody to go to from the rock music lovers to the trance music trippers.

For a night out I like to wear something interesting rather than just a regular party dress and of course complete my outfit with some kickass shoes. I am not a party person at all but I love to spend time with my close friends over pretty drinks and good music. I enjoy pubs more than clubs. Hard Rock Cafe is one of my favourites in Mumbai.

HRC has great service, ambience and music as everybody is well aware. The food and drinks are spot on but the thing I enjoy the most about Hard Rock Cafe’s across the different city are the fashion archives of all the legendary rockstars! Also, they have some great live performances lined up!

I asked a few of my amazing fashionista friends at a black and white soiree held at Poco Loco about their favourite night spots in the city and we sure have a list of interesting answers and tips and tricks which you could use at your next night out!

What kind of makeup would you recommend for a night out?

I would go for neutral shadows with a nice, thick winged eyeliner and kajal. Also bright lips! I like Ruby Woo and Rebel by MAC.

Which places in Mumbai do you enjoy partying at?

I like Olive Bar and Kitchen and Tote. I recently discovered a new place called Exo at Palladium Hotel. Olive bar has really delicious food and it is a great place to hang out with the girls. Tote has the most amazing food! I truly enjoyed the music at Exo, the perfect place to dance the night away!

What makes you excited to party at night?

The music! I like going to places where a good mix of commercial pop, hip hop and Bollywood music is played.

Which places in Mumbai do you enjoy partying at?

I like going to Or-g and Trilogy because I like the vibe of those places and the music is perfectly suited to my taste. The crowd is great too and on a night out one tends to meet new and interesting people at such places.

For all the commercial Bollywood music fans, Or-g is the place to be. Though touted as being too small and too glittery, this place it doesn’t seem to bog down the spirit of the dancer within one bit!

What do you look forward to the most at a party?

For me, a party is not the typical club hopping scene but rather sitting and home with my friends and chilling in my PJ’s. But occasionally when I go out, I find out how far it is from home (we say, smart girl!) the kind of music which is being played and the ambience of the place. I also read/ask for reviews if I am new to the place. Once I am ready I only look forward to having a change from my monotonous routine and having fun!

Which places in Mumbai do you enjoy partying at?

I haven’t been to many parties but China House in Grand Hyatt appealed to me most for it’s ambience. Other than that I also enjoyed Firangi Paani, Hawaiian Shack and Amadeus. For me the main attraction is the music and the kind of crowd which comes in.

China house is a beautifully done up chic club with cozy seating and the aesthetics seem to have won many a hearts. A tip would be to get your reservation in place as this place is usually busy.

What simple tricks can one use to look physically fit in that little party dress?

I personally feel its not the outfit that compliments a woman, its the woman who compliments a dress. Its my crazy confidence & love for a fab body that helps me rock whatever I wear;) as far as tricks are concerned I guess its very important to know ur body & fall in love with it!

Which places in Mumbai do you love to party at?

I love sundowners & pool parties at Marriot, Aer, Dome, and at times chilling at Gadda da vida at Novotel. Partying is something I absolutely enjoy at Liv,Tote,The Little Door, Club Alibi. These days my hot fav is Villa 69.

Boasting the best views of the city, Aer is a top favourite among club goers just for the spectacular sight of a starry night on the rooftop with the sound of a not-so-distant beach. Definitely recommended to celebrate the special moments in your life.
