Designer Profile: Bora Aksu

Bora Aksu’s designs embody a fierce femininity — one that marries a fresh and structured approach to glamour with his exotic Turkish lineage. He continues to be inspired by the white and blue shades of the nazar boncugu (evil eye beads) and traditional Iznik tiles and for his stunning Spring/Summer 2014 Collection, the crochet work on his garments was done personally by members of his family in Istanbul! Living and working in London (he’s a regular at London Fashion Week), his work incorporates the eclectic influences of underground art, culture and music. His muses — including British musician and actress Kate Nash and American pianist and composer Tori Amos — exemplify this individuality and unusual beauty. We can’t wait for Mumbai to witness his magic. Marhaba!

Signature pieces: Juicy-coloured and supremely covetable cocktail dresses.
