Kate Moss decides to play mentor, but not to “pretty people”!
She’s always been known as a model, but these days Kate Moss is proving to be the unexpected poster girl for start-ups. Recently we told you about Kate’s desire to open her own nightclub and not long before that, we were impressed by her skill as an interior design consultant on a luxury Cotswolds development, The Lakes by Yoo. While the nightclub business has yet to materialise, Kate is now taking concrete steps to turn another passion into a paycheck — and this, she says, has been a lifelong dream.
The 42-year-old global runway star is launching her own talent company; and she’s emphatic that it isn’t just an agency for aspiring and established models. “I want to focus more on managing people’s careers than just running a modelling agency. I don’t really want pretty people; I want people that want to sing and dance and act — I want to create stars,” says Kate, outlining her dream job. Sadly the first step to setting up this business was parting with Storm Models; the agency that has represented Kate for 27 years. “It was like leaving home,” the supermodel explains, adding, “I had to leave, and they were very understanding about it.”
Turning the page on that ‘Storm’ chapter, Kate is looking forward to her new venture with the enthusiasm of a beginner. With over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, we’re certain this will be another successful passion to paycheck conversion for Ms. Moss.
