Gypsy At Heart: Kangana Ranaut
While some like to chill it out with a beer or blow off the steam on the dance floor, the Queen of Bollywood — Kangana Ranaut, often likes to take a pause from her hectic schedule and embrace nature.
Kangana is known to be a hardworking girl, who credits her unprecedented success solely to her assiduous nature. And though work consumes most of her time, the minute she gets any time off from her hectic schedule, the girl from the hills runs back to her roots to unwind and relax. “I love the mountains,” she confesses and adds, “And I like to make quick trips to Manali as and when possible. It is the ideal place to relax and unwind.”
A gypsy at heart, romancing the pause is all about traveling, for this Tanu Weds Manu Returns actress. If not in the hills of Himachal, one will find her taking a pause and soaking in the picturesque Europe. “I love Europe, especially France, Italy and Rome,” exclaims Kangana, who made two trips to France lately, one for the premiere of her critically acclaimed film – Queen and recently as the front row guest at one of the couture shows at Paris Fashion Week.
“That city is loads of fun,” says Kangana. “People have much to say against French people. But I think, under their arrogant facade, they are people who really enjoy themselves and once you have learned their ways, they welcome you with open arms. I love the way the people of that city dress up. It is inspiring. I try and take a break in Paris at least twice or thrice a year,” reveals the National Award-winning actress. Apparently, Kangana is so much in love with Paris that she wants to go there even for her honeymoon.
Well, Paris is not her only favorite place on the globe; among the other places where this globetrotter has traveled extensively are Rome, Italy, and Florence. And interestingly Kangana likes to travel solo, “I like to travel alone and I often explore a new city on foot,” says the Katti Batti actress.
“While on a holiday I walk, I trek, I take pictures and I write a lot, mainly stories. Writing helps me unwind,” the aspiring writer-director reveals. “I like to see history; it always excites me, which is why I loved Florence and Rome. I also like shopping for clothes; for that I go to New York or Milan, maybe Paris or London. I love taking buses and standing in queues. I am not someone who wants attention lavished on me. I like to do simple and normal things when I am on a holiday, which I usually miss doing back home,” she talks about her ideal holiday.
In fact, Kangana enjoys traveling so much that one will often find her surfing the internet during her free time and planning her next holiday destination.
Undoubtedly, the fresh breeze, quietude of nature, and not being chased by the paparazzi sums up this gypsy’s perfect pause moments.
